Richard C. “Dick” Emrey, Jr. has over 29 years of experience in the Property and Casualty business as one of the Rockbridge area’s top producers in personal, commercial, court bond, and contract bond insurance. Dick began his career with a well-established, family-owned agency where he was a producer in the Lexington office. He was responsible for marketing, sales and service of personal and commercial lines. Prior to founding Emrey & Amonette, Dick was VP of the Lexington office of a large regional insurance broker.

Dick is a native of Lexington. He and his wife Karen devote much of their free time to the area’s charitable and non-profit organizations. Dick is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Rockbridge County Public Schools Foundation, is Co-Chair of the Annual Lexington Great Strides Walk for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and serves on the Lexington Presbyterian Church Property Committee. He is the past Campaign Chair of the Lexington/Rockbridge United Way and a current member and former Board Director of the Lexington Golf and Country Club. Dick and Karen have two sons who have attended Rockbridge County public schools. Dick holds a BA in Economics, School of Commerce, from Washington & Lee University.

Gregg B. Amonette co-founded Emrey & Amonette in 2011, bringing to the firm over 25 years of experience as a public company officer and sales and marketing executive, principally in the financial services industry, and primarily as a provider of content, services and technology to brokerage firms, banks, insurance companies and institutional money managers.

Gregg began his financial services career as a floor trader for a private trading fund and Member of the New York Futures Exchange, then a subsidiary of NYSE. Gregg has made significant contributions to the growth of a number of market leading companies including the Brokerage Services Division of Automatic Data Processing (NYSE: ADP), Multex, Inc., a startup which grew to become a market leader and was ultimately acquired by Thomson Reuters (NYSE: TRI), SNL Financial, LC, now a division of S & P Global (NYSE: SPGI), and others.

Gregg and his family live on a farm in Rockbridge Baths. He is passionate about the people, schools, natural beauty and economy of the Rockbridge area and currently serves or has served on many of the local boards including, the Rockbridge Area Conservation Council, and the Rockbridge Area Network Authority, the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce, and the Rockbridge Public Schools Foundation. Gregg is an Elder of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and past member of Session. Gregg and his wife, Susan, have three children all of whom attended Lexington and Rockbridge County public schools and who are currently pursuing their careers post college. Gregg holds a BA from Washington & Lee University.

Della D. Martin joined the Emrey & Amonette team as Office Manager in September 2016 and was made a Partner in the firm in January 2018.  She began her career at the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce and has over twenty-two years of experience in construction accounting, four years in a corporate accounting setting and has worked with various local non-profits.

Della is licensed in Property & Casualty and has taken numerous classes and seminars relating to the insurance field.

Born and raised in Rockbridge County, Della and her husband, Jamie, have one child who attends Rockbridge County High School.  In her spare time, Della enjoys spending time with her family camping. Della has an Associate degree in Business Administration.
